Marton is a small village in rural Cheshire with around 250 inhabitants. We’re on the Cheshire plain, towards the east—in striking distance of both the stark beauty of the Peak District and the delights of Manchester.
And Marton is an attractive village in its own right, with historic listed buildings such as the church (and several domestic buildings), as well as footpaths and bridleways to explore. We’re on the Cheshire Cycleway, and regularly attract walkers.
For such a little place, there’s quite a lot going on, such as the annual Village Wakes—with the crowning of the village Rose Queen—in late July. Our popular primary school is right in the middle of the village, and we have several places you can find something to eat and drink.
